I called around and their quote to me on the phone seemed reasonable. I went ahead and booked them well ahead of the date I needed to move. I explained in full detail the amount of items I had, and described in detail the layout of the rental place I was moving out of. The man I spoke to asked if he could come by before the move date to see for himself how much stuff I had, and of course I was glad to let him, since my assumption was that it would leave no surprises for moving day.
As we got closer to moving day, I called them to confirm, as no one had yet contacted me to come by and see the place.
Well, moving day was not what I expected.
First off, they were really late, about 1 hr and 15 min. No one called me to let me know they would be late. I had to track them down and find out what was going on.
The 2 guys that came were extremely un-enthusiastic about the number of boxes I had packed. I though I was doing them a favor by packing really heavy things like books and dishes in smaller boxes. They kept complaining about the number of boxes. it was pretty silly and made them look a little lazy.
I was told on the phone that they would wrap furniture in blankets. They did no suck thing. they just had a blanket on the floor of their truck. I the process they damaged so many of my things. You can tell they were very careless while loading and unloading things, because there are furniture pieces with scrapes everywhere. they even smashed the corner of one dresser.
Now, because they didn't come before hand to see how many things I had,. they took 2 trips, which cost me $125 extra. If they had done THEIR part, like they had themselves suggested, it wouldn't have taken so much extra time.
The second trip, they had 2 extra men come to help. They didn't tell us this. Instead I found out when some guy I didn't see before walked in, barely glanced at me, went straight to my bathroom to take a leak. Rude.
When they got to our new place, A house that we had just bought, they threw most of the boxes in the garage. My husband had to make them at least take the heavier boxes into the kitchen. They were complaining about that too. They threw boxes of clothes and linens in the garage.
I wouldn't recommend them. The entire ordeal with them was pretty poor. The way they acted, and complained the whole time, didn't do their job thoroughly, they are the exact definition of what you DON'T want in a moving company.
Don't hire them!
