They sell anything and everything whether it is halal or haram yet they call them a Halal Store. I picked up ten items which a Muslim should not eat and ask them why. Their answer. Buy it if you like it or leave it.....

ASALAM AILEKUM, I am a Pakistani Muslim. To get halal& fresh meat I usually buy my grocerries from Muslim stores & usually I buy from Iqbal foods.2 days ago I went & purchased grocerries for the Eid,trusting that being Muslim his goods will be pure fresh & halal,I was given wrotten full of dirty smell beaf which when I came home my wife checked & found unable to be used. Its not matter of money but now how can I trust any Pakistani Muslim who cheats for few bucks & play with our Faith & health. In my eyes Mr. Iqbal is a cheatter & can he claim that he is a real Muslim?????

Shopping at Iqbal Foods is so much like being in India where you can find all the items from your homeland :) My experience with IQ Foods had been superb until I discovered that few of the Indian stuffs sold there had actually expired but still lie on the aisles, even the meat sometimes is so smelly, thats redicules !!!

<p>I have been shopping from this store since 2003 almost twice a week. Below are my experiences about the store. Outside: Located in Thorncliffe Park Dr area across the Mosque (Dar Salam). Large parking area Shopping Carts TTC Accessible Community board with various advertisements Inside the store: 1. You can find almost all kitchen items that you'd need as a South Asian household. These usually come from Pakistan and India alongwith others and off course are Halal. 2. Separate team for Meat Section with a tear-off counter machine-that keeps you informed with the progress while you wait 3.Well organized aisles with marked prices for bakery, vegetables, dairy, fruits, juices, meat, spiced, lentils, laundry, floors, rice, sugar etc. 4. Clean and almost no-smells compared to other desi stores. 5. 8 individual counters to serve. 6. All Visa/Master Card accepted 7. Available are Calling cards served by independent inside sales counter. 8. Islamic books and wearing clothings.

No doubt we can find every thing here but regret all the stuff is very expensive and an ordinary person could not afford, They should make resonable profits rather than streching the skin of peoples. They can maximise their profits by opening more branches in GTA rather than minting money at one location.

Iqbal Food is growing very fast Alhamdulliah , I guess one of THE BEST Grocery store in GTA. But there prices are way to high or I would say not cheap at all compare to Others , Lets see what will be the futre of Iqbal Food since all these big Grocery chains ( Wallmart + Price Choppr + Food Basic etc. etc. ) are carrying most of oriental ( Indo+pak ) Food and grocerry and also claiming to have HALAL Meat , Iqbal Food has to lower there prices since there buyer crowd is getting huge ,the should pass there bulk savings to the loyal Customers !!!!!!!! Cheers

In the name of HALAL Iqbal food has motto to HALAL the customer in every way possible , look around in the other grocery stores and compare the prices , Iqbal food is THE MOST EXPENSIVE place , This is the result I come acrose after living in 20 Years in Canada and in around GTA.

I was a regular customers of Iqbals but after finding out that there Meat are not reliable; and they sell lot of things with haram ingrediants, I have stopped buying there. Also who has time to stand in ques for two two three hours. Nobody cares about service or cleanlingness and nobody entertaints complains. Why not they got HMA Certificate if they are really Halal ?? I know many religious good persons have stopped buying from ther.

Well Iqbal Foods is better as we can buy a lot of things at one place . Also now its chicken is HMA certified so i prefer buying chicken from there . But its true that there are long queues for meat section . They should either extend the portion or increase the labor doing work their . Any way a gu dplace to buy things

Iqbal is a big store but not clean and service is no good. Meat lines can take three hours. Bosses dont care about customers. Meat is NOT CERTIFIED BY HMA. Lot of doubtful items and some Haram items are openly sold in the store and nobody cares. Muslims trust Iqbal but they are not looked after. It is a pity that a Store running in the name of faith, HALAL, is far from Halal....!
