Question 3 of 3

The Canadian Crown

For over four centuries Canada has been symbolised by the Crown, showing that the country has a monarch (and has been a constitutional monarchy) since Confederation in 1860. Our current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, who has been Queen of Canada since she came to the throne in 1952, celebrated her Diamond Jubilee, ruling for 60 years, in 2012. The Crown symbolises many branches of government, including the armed forces, police services, judiciary, legislature and Parliament.
